Elements not visible

Postby dmb » Mon Mar 08, 2010 3:58 pm

I have installed a demo version of Flux. I can not "see" elements in Page View. When I add a div, for example, the blue borders I expected to see are not visible. (I am referring to the borders that indicate the boundaries of elements, not borders that are assigned to an element to be visible on the web page.) Furthermore, I don't even seem to be able to select the body element.

Flux looks very promising. I am about to re-create a site and an considering using Flux rather than Freeway Pro, which I used prior to this. Obviously not being able see the elements is not going to useable. I concerned about what this says about Flux's readiness.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Am I missing something?

At the bottom of the Edit window turn on Frames. You will also see Padding, Margins, Spans, Tokens, Relations, Grid, Masters.

Blond is almost certainly correct. If they still don't show up, then there is a very peculiar problem!

Cheers!

I do have Frames enabled. I opened the site on which I was working again today to verify that Frames were enabled. Again I could not see the borders. Nor could I see Margins or Padding after enabling them. However, after closing and then reopening the site, the borders, Margins and Padding were visible. Humm. I will continue my evaluation of Flux, but this has, frankly, made me a bit nervous about adopting it to create my new site.

I am running Flux 2.47.25 on a mid-2009 MacBook Pro under Mac OS X 10.6.2.

OK, I can see a problem under certain circumstances I'll contact MT direct so it can be sorted asap.

Well, I thought that the problem was solved. I downloaded Flux 2.47.26, which I noticed just came out. I have created a number of new sites (one page sites) without problems. However, I just not added a page to one of these sites; frames (and margins and padding) are not visible on the new page. I tried saving, closing and re-launching Flux, as that seemed to have something to do with resolving the problem last time. However, as of now, it hasn't fixed the problem.

I have been working through the QuickStart guide examples and experimenting with Flux quite a bit. It looks promising - just need the frames, etc. so that I can manipulate the elements!

I have some additional information. I had created the new page in the site. The frames, margins, etc. were not visible. I then re-sized the Flux window and all the frames, margins, etc. were visible. I have not repeated the test yet, and won't be able to do so until much later today. I'll report back when I do.

For what it's worth in your diagnostics, I noticed another glitch. After creating the new page (before re-sizing it), I added a body style with a background image. The image did not fill the Flux window. When I changed the size of the Flux window, the background image did fill the window.
